Ms. YiLing Chaing, a mezzo-soprano, is a Maestro-level opera singer and a music pedagogue. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. and holds a research assistant position in Malaysia. Her postgraduate educational background was from the privilege Kodaly Institute and Liszt Academy of Music (Hungary). She was awarded the top honored Kodály Expert. YiLing obtained her Bachelor’s degree with honors from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (UK).
During her studies in Europe, she has won numerous prizes, most notably Ella Ceshire Soprano Scholarship (UK), Margaret Pascoe Singing Award (UK), Alpin Triglav International Competition (Slovenia) and Joseph Weingarten Competition (Hungary & UK), just to name a few. Besides holding the track record of one of the highest marks for the entrance examination into the Kodály Institute, she also received a full scholarship for her postgraduate studies. Her international career has brought her to many prestigious halls in England, Hungary, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia.
